About the Author

Laura Thorson is a first-time author, illustrator and California native.

She spent most of her twenties in San Francisco where she started her career in tech, met her husband, and became a mom. As she adjusted to her new career as a full-time mom at the end of 2019, she found enjoyment in drawing on her iPad during nap times. She found Lisa Bardot’s “Making Art Everyday” prompts, one of which was to draw an illustration to go with every letter of the alphabet and resulted in this book!

The San Francisco Alphabet Book is a culmination of some of her favorite places and spaces in San Francisco. She hopes it will serve as a reminder to both visitors and natives of this special city.
